Babysitting
Most Villas and Casas can arrange for nanny service. Depending on how late you will be out you may have to pay for the night or pay for the taxi for the nanny to go home. The rates will be extremely reasonable.

Telephone
People can call you at your Villa or Casa from the US by dialing 011+ 52 + 744 and the 7-digit telephone number. From other countries, callers should use normal international dialing procedures. The country code for Acapulco is (52) and the area code for Acapulco is (744). The local phone number at the villa or casa will be issued after you make your reservation.

Phone calls are subject to 15% tax.
To make long distance calls from a public phone dial 090.
To dial direct to the USA or Canada dial: 011+ Area Code + Phone Number
To dial direct calls within Mexico: 01 + Area Code + Phone Number

Electricity
The country operates on the 60-cycle, 120-volt system. Many Mexican outlets do not have three-prong polarized plugs, so in this case you will need an adapter.

Water
Purified water is used in beverages and ice and for cooking in all big-city hotels and restaurants. It is best to stick with bottled water and beverages, without ice, in outlying areas.

Dress Codes
Acapulco is a casual resort. However, you can’t get into a restaurant wearing a swimming suit unless you’re eating at the pool, and in some restaurants and discos men aren’t allowed to wear tennis shoes, sandals, tank tops, baseball caps and shorts. Women can get away with almost anything they are wearing.

Packing
The attire for Acapulco differs depending on where you go. During the day comfortable beachwear is ideal for this resort area. That includes shorts, sandals, hats, beach bags, suntan crème and all the necessities made for enjoying the tropics. Bring some bug repellent if you plan to explore our fabulous lagoons and nature spots. Sunscreen is also a must because of Mexico's bright sunshine and long days.

Many guests choose to be in swimwear most of the time so bring at least 2-3 swimsuits. A lightweight cotton sweater comes in handy on a cool night or for indoor air-conditioned dining. Lounging wear is great for a siesta in an air-conditioned bedroom. At night, anything from casual to dressy, again, depends on what you have planned. Formality is welcomed everywhere.

Customs Declaration upon entry to Mexico
Allowable duty free limits on goods you are bringing into the country are 400 cigarettes, 50 cigars or 250 grams of tobacco, 1 liter of alcohol or 2 liters of sparkling wine, 2 liters of table wine, and 12 rolls of film.

US Embassy
There is a US Consular Agency in Acapulco, part of the US Embassy to Mexico. The US Department of State provides information online for travelers to Mexico.
